Jimmy Batjer

Home Club: Islands End Golf & Country Club

  • Jimmy Batjer has been a Golf Professional for over 34 years. Jimmy is well regarded throughout the Metropolitan area as a Golf Professional with tremendous experience and knowledge of the golf swing along with time proven techniques for teaching golfers of all abilities. In his many years of teaching Jimmy has worked with men/women, seniors, juniors, disabled golfers, Collegiate athletes and Tour Professionals from various tours (PGA, Korn Ferry, LPGA, Futures, etc…) along with other professional athletes. Jimmy’s students leave each instructional session with a full understanding of the topics and information, but more importantly is the correction and causes and effects of each issue which is much more valuable than anything else.

  • To quote the great Ben Hogan, “Don’t simply tell a player what he is doing wrong – that’s not much help. You must explain to them what they ought to be doing, why it is correct, and the results it produces. Then work like the blazes to get it across so they really understand what you are talking about.” I approach all my lessons, clinics and schools with this enthusiasm and dedication.

    Jimmy’s strengths as an instructor are his overall knowledge of the game and its technical aspects, his playing experience, his ability to communicate, and being patient and understanding during each players personal learning and development experience. Jimmy takes tremendous pride in being able to teach complex concepts in a simple manner.

Michelle Warde, PGA

Home Club: North Fork Country Club

  • Michelle Warde is the First Assistant Golf Professional at North Fork Country Club in Cutchogue, NY and is currently a Level III PGA Apprentice. Michelle grew up on Long Island and started playing golf at the age of 8 with her Dad. She can still remember the first golf shot she ever hit being up in the air and straight. From that point on she loved the game. She played competitively in High School and then went on to continue golf in college at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC where she graduated with a Business and Marketing Degree with a concentration in Professional Golf Management.

    Michelle lives in Southold with her husband Scott and her daughter Lily and son Colin.

  • Michelle has been in the golf industry ever since and one of her passion has become teaching and coaching. She continues to grow and improve as an instructor through reading, certifications and working with other golf professionals. Her goal is for her students to find success and have fun while learning the fundamental skills of golf. Regardless if you are just learning the sport or if you are a competitive player, Michelle keeps her instruction simple and direct realizing that every student is different with different needs and goals.

Ryan Peachy, PGA

Home Club: Friar’s Head

  • Ryan Peachey is currently an Assistant Golf Professional at Friar's Head in Baiting Hollow, New York. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Professional Golf Management, Ryan has been a Class A PGA Member since graduating in 2023. He was taught the game of golf by Mary Zierke, a former Head Golf Coach at Penn State, and carries many of the lessons he learned into his own game, his teaching, and his life. Some of Ryan's best memories come from evening walks on the golf course with friends, especially when the air is crisp and the world stands still.

    Aside from golf, Ryan's passions include cheering on the Penn State Nittany Lions on the football field, exploring new exercises in the gym, and cooking delicious meals with his girlfriend.

  • Ryan teaches the game of golf in the same way he learned it: by relating the golf swing to daily life. He believes the concept of a "golf swing" can seem foreign to many, but in reality, it is a collection of familiar movements. Whether his students have a history of playing other sports or not, there are movements in everyday life that can be imitated to improve the golf swing. Don’t be surprised if you see Ryan throwing golf balls instead of hitting them at a practice range!

Anurag Vij, PGA

Home Club: Laurel Links Country Club

  • Anurag Vij (or “Vij,” as he likes to be called) is an Assistant Golf Professional at Laurel Links Country Club in Laurel, NY. Vij grew up on Long Island and played many sports. He specialized in football and went to Penn State University. As he was close to graduating, he picked up golf with a few friends and grew incredibly frustrated at how tough it was. He was very determined to get better and found a teaching pro who helped achieve his goal and fell in love with the game and never looked back. He and his teaching pro remained close to this day.  

    Vij lives in Mineola with his wife Fior and his son Surya. 

  • Vij has been working in the golf industry for 15 years and one of his main passions has been teaching. He has worked with individuals and clinics of many people of all different ages, skill levels, and abilities. One of his most rewarding experiences is how he has helped work with individuals who were part of the Special Olympics. He still currently works with individuals in the special needs community. His goal for all his students is to find success and have fun while learning the fundamental skills of golf. Vij keeps his instruction simple and easy to understand because the golf swing can be very complicated and everyone is different, but we all have the ability to have success playing and enjoy golf for a lifetime.
